Scope of work/ job purpose:

Under the supervision of the CP/CWI manager, the CWI Officer and with technical support from the CWI technical unit of Addis Ababa, the CWI Officer will supervise, coordinate and manage the CWI program in a professional manner. She/he will coordinate with the various services available in the IDP site.

Detailed responsibility and tasks:

           1. Ensure well-coordinated program to address needs and cases concerning GBV                              survivors and diverse women and girls in the IDP sites.

2. Conduct trainings on Gender Based Violence (GBV) response and prevention to government and non-government service providers based on field sites needs’, requests and scheduling.

3. Maintain standard, design and undertake diversified psychosocial support activities at  women and girls safe space.

4. Provide psychological first aid to GBV survivors and mentor and train social work to         facilitate the safe space activities

5. Be seconded at government institution and provide technical support on GBV case     management and counseling support.

6. Support the implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project activities.

7. In collaboration with the CP, hold community awareness raising campaigns/ keep fit on     GBV concerns

8.  Work on monthly and progress reports.

9.  Develop CWI communication materials (brochures, leaflets) as needed.

10. Establish community groups and build their capacity on GBV response and prevention.

11. Establish good partnership with different actors including schools and provide       technical  support.

12. Conduct monthly BVA reviews and make appropriate recommendations to CWI/CP manager and CWI Addis team as needed.

13. Support in the update/establish of a functional GBV referral system, Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs), maintain good GBV coordination mechanism with other actors to ensure comprehensive response intervention, risk mitigation and GBV services provision at the target region.

14.  Support in prevention program activity design of effective community outreach and engagement strategies to strengthen the protective environment for women and girls and maximize the community impact including engaging men and boys.

15. Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities including in assessments and surveys.

16. Assist with all aspects of project implementation in region and provide operational support (i.e., HR & Admin., Finance, Logistics) including facilitating procurement requests, following up on PR tracking, etc.

17. Coordinate and organize CWI workshops and trainings including prepare TOR, facilitate procurement requests, and follow up on the timely implementation.

18. Any other duties and responsibilities including field visits to other field offices that can be given by immediate and technical supervisors.

 

 

Qualifications

 

Requirements

1. First degree with 3 years of experience in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health, Women’s Studies, or any other Social science related field. Or 2 years of relevant experience plus post graduate degree.

2. NGO experience is a plus.

3.Related work and field experiences in counseling or social service provision with women and adolescent girls.

4. Demonstrated confidence in discussing intimate gender and sexuality issues.

5. Able to maintain GBV and protection principles at all times – including knowledge and practical application of the GBV Guiding Principles and PSEA.

6. Familiarity working in the region is an advantage.

 Skilled required

·         Basic supervisory/managerial skills

·         Technical and report writing skills

·        Computer literate (ability to use MS office, word, excel, and outlook email applications very            well)

·         Fluent spoken and written English.
